Zion Kosher Market
About This Spot
Stepping into Zion Kosher Market feels like entering a small corner of Israel nestled right in the heart of Brooklyn. The atmosphere is quietly vibrant, unhurried yet purposeful—a place where every visit carries a sense of familiarity and warmth. It is the kind of spot that invites you to linger a little longer, to soak in the rich aromas and the gentle hum of friendly exchanges.
Here, the pace is steady and welcoming. As you move through the aisles, you’re met with the reassuring presence of time-honored traditions made tangible in every product. The market is not just about filling a grocery list; it feels more like a bridge to home. You might find yourself drawn to freshly baked pita, still warm from the oven, or the distinctive blends of spices and homemade dips that whisper stories of distant kitchens and shared meals.
Zion Kosher Market is animated by a sense of community and genuine care—both in the way the owner interacts with customers and in the thoughtful selection of items that represent more than just food on a shelf. There’s a palpable connection here, a subtle invitation to experience something both grounding and joyful in the everyday act of shopping.
The market’s rhythm changes slightly on Fridays, as it becomes a gathering place for those looking to prepare for the weekend with familiar flavors from Yemen, Israel, and beyond. This is where routine meets ritual, and where the food feels like an extension of shared heritage, made accessible and authentic.
Ultimately, Zion Kosher Market offers more than groceries. It creates moments—of finding a treat that tastes like home, of witnessing kindness in unexpected ways, and of becoming part of a local story that continues to unfold in the rows of fresh ingredients and warm smiles.

Incredible place! The pitas are insanely good—definitely the best I’ve had in the U.S. The owner was also refreshingly honest about his sales. Highly recommend!

This is a one of a kind place that makes its own spice and seasoning mixtures as well as hummus, eggplant and other dips and salads. They also make their own schug, which is excellent. They have fresh lafa and baghrir, often still warm from the oven, and can anyone name another place that regularly makes shakshuka to go? There is vegetable soup every day as well. There are also more than a few Israeli grocery items that are rare finds in the U.S. Everything is reasonably priced, and the house made stuff is restaurant quality, or better. The owner is very accommodating and friendly, as is everyone else there. A gem of a place.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on their food but I can comment on how amazing the owner and his employees are. My car died outside of their store even though they had already closed and were heading home they stayed and helped me jump start my car. People like this should be appreciated and people should make sure to shop at their store!

Best tasting olives in Brooklyn! They have various olives stuffed with garlic or peppers. They also have plenty of other Israeli and Moroccan foods to choose from. Their fresh LAFA is the best in town. Didn't forget to ask for that during your visit. This family owned store has been around forever. They are friendly, helpful, and reasonably priced. Hard to find parking though.
